Cordel literature has undeniable importance for society, whether as a historical document, source of information, entertainment, communication or for scientific purposes. In this perspective, the study’s purpose was stablished as investigating, within the approaches of the Information Science, how information representation technologies influence the representation of the information in the cordel literature. The methodological course was constituted by exploratory descriptive research, using the procedure of bibliographic research. Due to the scarcity of studies focused on the theme, the importance and necessity of theoretical and methodological construction for the representation of the information in cordéis was evidenced. It was identified that, as a result of the use of digital technologies in the process of representing cordel literature, the cibercordel was originated. This, in turn, presents a series of particular aspects deriving from the representation of cordel literature in digital scope, differentiating itself from a simple scanning of the printed cordel. Considering the above, the present study considers that, through the use of information representation technologies, such as metadata, it is possible to bring contributions to the improvement of aspects related to the retrieval of informational contents in cordel literature. |
