Resumo: The Brazilian Building Labeling Program (PBE EDIFICA) is a Brazilian energy efficiency rating instrument that aims to reduce energy consumption in buildings. This paper analyzes the consumption of electricity in bank buildings and the relationship with the energy efficiency levels obtained by the prescriptive method of the RTQ-C and by the simplified method of the proposal to improve the regulation, INI-C, of the PBEEDIFICA. General data were used from 72 bank branches, belonging to the same institution, located in Curitiba and the Metropolitan Region, with energy consumption data from 2014 to 2016. From these 72 branches, we used project data from 32, carried out survey in 12 buildings and calculated the energy efficiency level, by means of the two regulations, for 11 bank buildings. The real consumption intensity Box Plot of the 72 bank branches was smaller compared to the national energy consumption benchmarking for bank branches. By means of Kendall’s tau correlation analysis using data from 11 bank buildings, it was possible to identify that correlation between the general energy efficiency level and the actual energy consumption intensity is weak, calculated according to the current (Ƭ =, 220) and proposed (Ƭ = -, 131) regulations. There was a moderate inverse correlation with the area and intensity of energy consumption (Ƭ =, - 527 *). The correlation between efficiency levels, calculated by the current regulation and by the improvement proposal, identified that there were significant changes in the method of calculation of the envelope, air conditioning and general classification, as these presented low correlation indices. However, there was a high correlation between the energy efficiency levels of the lighting system, calculated by the two regulations, which reflects that for this system there was little change in the calculation method. As an improvement to the Brazilian labeling process it is recommended to develop a reference table for bank buildings and an indication of the setpoint temperature for the air-conditioning system, só that the calculation of the cooling thermal load by means of the simplified method of INI-C can be closer to the actual condition and thus serve as an indicator of energy consumption, this way feeding the national benchmarking database and improving regulations.
