Resumo: The present work takes a path that follows from the segmentation of the parent stem which is makind‟s faculty of language in two diverse shoots – language and myth – (CASSIRER, 1946), through the faith of humanity in the reality apprehended only by the word (FLUSSER, 2007), until these faith is lost by the intellectualization of the intellect itself (FLUSSER, 2011a), this loss being motivated by the storm of progress that pushes us fiercely into the abyss of the void. Thus, different steps of this path are illustrated by mediatic products that, rather than just represent the world, demonstrate the relationship of the animal symbolicum (CASSIRER, 1944) with the reality contained in the language used to symbolize it. After opposing belief and nihilism – that is: faith in the language and the melancholy caused by its loss –, the Flusserian concept of Übersetzen (FLUSSER, 2007) is then employed to propose an attempt to exit this opposing hindrance with the figure of the Player: the one who assumes the imposed strings in order to create his own intersubjectives ones, dealing with the simultaneity of the contradictories (BAUDRILLARD, 1991), not only to contemplate the emptiness of the void, but to play with the possibilities of symbolic interpretations within it.
