In our case, the objective is to suggest that, under the inspiration of French literature, local production gave new meaning to the concepts of modernity and urbanity through themes that dealt with the transitory and ephemeral in the urban space that was configured in the province recently elevated to state. . The focus of this dissertation’s approach is the analysis and interpretation of poems that, anchored in the dialogue with French writers, such as Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Mallarmé and Paul Verlaine, placed readers in the new historical moment. From the Symbolism and the literary production of the first two decades of the 20th century, there was a certain consolidation of an intellectualized thought about Paraná and, mainly, about Curitiba, which resulted in the need to define or affirm the local artistic identity. The theoretical foundation contemplates the hypotheses formed by Stanley Fish on the formation of interpretive communities, as well as Benedict Anderson’s ideas on imagined and socially constructed communities by common interests. In this sense, the present study organizes poems by Emiliano Perneta, Dario Vellozo, Silveira Neto and Rodrigo Junior in thematic sections that reveal the writing and the style of urban life, symbol of the cultural repertoire of Paraná. Este estudo aborda as apropriações culturais e literárias idealizadas pelos escritores paranaenses que contribuíram para a construção de uma identidade imaginada, nas últimas décadas do século XIX e início do século XX, como representante de um comportamento artenovista que fulgurava na Belle Époque curitibana. Em nosso caso, o objetivo é sugerir que sob a inspiração da literatura francesa, a produção local ressignificava os conceitos de modernidade e de urbanidade por meio de temas que versavam sobre o transitório e efêmero no espaço urbano que se configurava na província recentemente elevada a estado. O centro da abordagem desta dissertação é a análise e interpretação de poemas que, ancorados no diálogo com escritores franceses, como Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Mallarmé e Paul Verlaine, situaram os leitores no novo momento histórico. A partir do Simbolismo e da produção literária das duas primeiras décadas do século XX houve certa consolidação de um pensamento intelectualizado sobre o Paraná e, principalmente, sobre Curitiba, o que resultou na necessidade de se definir ou se afirmar a identidade artística local. A fundamentação teórica contempla as hipóteses formadas por Stanley Fish sobre a formação de comunidades interpretativas, assim como as ideias de Benedict Anderson sobre comunidades imaginadas e socialmente construídas por interesses comuns.
