Resumo: The present study proposes a model based on the methods FMEA and Hesitant Fuzzy-TOPSIS to support the global risk assessment process in the context of industrial manufacturing. The computational model was implemented in Microsoft Excel© software and applied in the harnesses manufacturing process in a national company and leader in the supply for the agricultural machinery segment. The main objective of the application was to test and evaluate the model’s behavior in a real risk assessment situation in process. The results of the application suggest that the failure mode “Decape – less than specified length” represents the highest level of risk in the manufacturing process, which may cause partial or total loss of the primary function of the harness. Based on the results of the pilot application and the sensitivity analysis, the proposed model presents itself as an effective alternative to support risk assessment activities. The outputs of the model provide inputs for the formulation of action plans based on the risk level of the analyzed failure modes. Other contributions of this study consist of: allowing the use of additional criteria to those of the traditional FMEA; consider the relative importance of the selected criteria; support the group decision making; enable the use of more than one linguistic term to represent the judgment of decision makers; and support decision-making in situations of hesitation and ambiguity.
