Resumo: This master’s thesis presents the analysis made on the impact of the interference generated by a LoRaWAN network coexisting in the same environment of an IEEE 802.15.4g network of interest. This work analyses the impact of the interference generated by a LoRaWAN network coexisting in the same environment of an IEEE 802.15.4g network of interest. The simulations compare the multi-hop mode, restricted to dual-hop in this analysis, with a cooperative algorithm, both using relay selection. It is intended to evaluate the performance of these protocols, só that it is possible to transmit a large amount of information during the lifetime of the network, without impairing the communication rate and, thus, dimensioning the network to consume the minimum of necessary resources. The results show that the modification of the IEEE 802.15.4g communication protocol in order to support cooperation, especially in environments that are affected by interference from other networks, transmits from 4 to 20 times more information, with the system parameters here considered, when comparing to the traditional method using the dual-hop mode. This also allows it to be possible to distribute at least 150 times fewer cooperative nodes to achieve the same amount of information objective, which means less hardware investment.
