Resumo: Water is a very important resource on our planet, being increasingly depleted over the years. With the advent of technological development, it is perceived that, more and more, the words, quality and quantity are far from the water resource. It is known that due to flaws in the laws on the subject, many companies still profit from irregular practices, increasingly leading to a degeneration in quality. The Barra Nova stream located in the region of Apucarana, Paraná, is not free from anthropogenic action, thus making it possible to study the water quality of the stream. This work sought to investigate and evaluate anthropogenic influence in the Barra Nova stream. At the points sampled, a point of direct contact with a population was chosen, one after of a sewage treatment plant (STP) and another after an industrial park. The physicochemical parameters evaluated were of pH, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, nitrogen (ammonia, nitrate and nitrite), hardness, solids (total and suspended), chloride, fluoride and turbidity. The analysis was collected every two weeks between March and September 2017. It was evaluated also microbiological quality and a presence of metals by atomic absorption (copper, manganese, iron, zinc, chromium, lead, nickel and tin), in order to characterize the anthropic sources of contamination. There is no doubt that as of components of water are much higher, for example, because they present high values for the concentration of ammonium ion. Regarding the water quality of the stream in the collected points, this one showed low quality, evidencing that much has practical practices of residual contributions.
