Over the years, the synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), has attracted the interest of many researchers. These AgNPs have been applied as antimicrobial agents, however, they are very unstable. In this sense, the goals of this study was to synthesize the AgNPs by borohydride method, characterize them and evaluate the stability after being incorporated in the F-127 Pluronic for future application. After this, they were characterized by UV-Vis absorption and Transmission Electronic Microscopy. Then, the antimicrobial activity of AgNPs was evaluated against Escherichia coli by the qualitative susceptibility testing method. The most favorable condition for storage the synthesized AgNPs is at room temperature / dark since this condition yielded the lower self-aggregation and maintenance of its properties. The AgNPs incorporated into the polymeric surfactant F-127 remained more stable than the nanoparticles in aqueous solution. This system potentiates the bactericidal effect of AgNP against E. coli. |
