Resumo: Coordination chemistry study is important for understanding your applications in any area, especially in medicine. These compounds have metal centers and linkers, entitling such junction of metal complexes.Natural and synthetic imidazole containing compounds are reported to possess a wide range of biological and pharmacological activities. The synthesis of complexes between copper metal and compounds that possess the imidazole nucleus and the evaluation of their biological activities has been widely reported in the literature. The present work presents the synthesis of a new complex synthesized from copper perchlorate and 6-carboxy-4- (3-nitrophenyl) imidazo [4,5-c] -4,5,6,7- Tetrahydropyridine. The imidazole derivative was synthesized from the Pictet-Spengler reaction of L-histidine with 3-nitro-benzaldehyde and characterized by 1H and 13C NMR. The Cu(II) complex was characterized by conductivity, spectroscopy in the infraredregion and spectroscopy in the UV / Vis region, revealing that the complexation occurred by the nitrogen (N1) of the imidazole nucleus.
