A large part of the population has some type of disability and they live without conditions of dignity because of the obstacles and architectural barriers present in the urban environment. Many people are excluded, and do not receive adequate care
that make their inclusion in society to occur. The municipality of Janiópolis State of Paraná is very poor as regards to accessibility, preventing people with special needs (PSN) and people with restricted mobility to circulate safely on sidewalks or to have access to public commerce and to accessible toilets. From the foregoing, it was aimed to analyze the accessibility conditions in the city. It was also verified that the points presented in ABNT NBR 9050 are used appropriately as the public sidewalks, ramps and accessible toilets to trade both for public and to private, in the city of Janiópolis. To conclude this study, we mapped all avenues and streets of the city, and we made a study on accessibility in trade and public. The result showed that unfortunately, the city is not prepared to provide full access to PSN and to people
with restricted mobility, for instance, sidewalks without guides and with garbage
blocking the passage, not only to PSN, but to every citizen that circulates the sidewalks of boulevards and streets of Janiópolis, were found. It would be necessary to have an adaptation to the buildings and structures of public agencies to allow greater access to people with disabilities or people with restricted mobility, and improved sidewalks, and suitable floor and recess guides. |
