Resumo: The use of rainwater can reduce the consumption of potable water, reducing the demand in the water sources. Rainwater harvesting is a sustainable solution that contributes to the rational use of water, and can provide a reduction in user-paid bills to water utilities. Rainwater was collected directly from the atmosphere and from roofs in order to analyze changes in quality after passage through the catchment area. The objective of this work was to evaluate the quality of rainwater, focusing on non - potable use. The parameters analyzed were pH, color, turbidity, chemical oxygen demand (COD), conductivity, total solids and suspended solids of nine rainwater samples on 9 different days. The standards for analysis were followed in accordance with NBR 15527: 2007, in view of the water use criteria and the parameters required for the proposed use. In the analysis of the physical-chemical parameters, in the majority of the collections, values were obtained that were within the limits established by NBR 15527: 2007.
