This work was developed in order to evaluate the adsorption capacity of sawdust Pinus sp. as an alternative in the treatment of water from textile industries. To simulate the textile effluent procion red dye, reactive red RGB, methyl red and red bicromia methyl and methylene blue (50%) were tested. The adsorption experiments were carried out varying the mass of sawdust (0.10 g, 025 g, 050 g, 0.75 g and 1.0 g) and temperature (30 ° C, 40 ° C and 50 ° C). With the experimental results with adjustments adsorption isotherms of Langmuir and Freundlich were performed. The physico-chemical characterization of sawdust indicated: acidic character (pH 4.1 ± 0.06), iodine number of 660 ± 0.85 mg / g, bulk density of 6.15 g / cm ³ and moisture content 11%. The efficiency of discoloration resulted in 92.04% to 58.87% and bicromia to methyl red. Not for the removal procion red and red RGB reactive, probably due to the reactive nature of these dyes was observed, as for the methyl red and methylene blue, the sawdust worked great as adsorbent. The kinetic results for red bicromia methyl and methylene blue, models were fitted to pseudo-first order and pseudo-second-order Lagergren. The model presented pseudo-second-order best fit the experimental data on the adsorption of methyl red mixture with methylene blue, with a correlation coefficient of 0.9965 and the experimental results of more approximate values biossorvida amount at equilibrium (qe) and calculated. The test results show that for the Langmuir isotherm curve is positive and the curve is linear Freundlich with bicromia methyl red and methylene blue. |
