Resumo: The construction scenery in Brazil presents a considerable growth in quantities of brickworks. However, it still suffers from the lack of qualified people and from new technological jobs. For that reason, this research analyses the economical viability of prefabricated concrete block utilization in two floors residential building. Therefore, the project was developed and held by the project and brickwork company Bectom Brasil, in the town of Campo Mourão – Pr, due to the fact that it has increased the necessity of applying different building technologies which are aimed at reducing manual labor and making the building process faster and also the lack of budget data about the use of prefabricated concrete block in residential. It approaches the concepts of in loco and prefabricated concrete block, their advantages and disadvantages and brickwork budget. Using the Table of Composition Budget Price database – TCPO, by PINI, with structural project data, it was quantified the buildings to be held as a result of budget table of the building held in steel fabricated concrete in loco, and hired prefabricated concrete block suppliers in Campo Mourão and the region in order to provide the budget to hold the brickwork according to the structural pattern in prefabricated concrete brick as they can be economically compared. To this specific project the study showed the differences about the costs using the structural patterns studied, advantages and disadvantages and it presented important information to engineers, clients or builders in choosing the structural pattern to be used in building two floors residential.
