The construction industry has been growing rampantly in recent years and with it all the benefits and detriments of his works, it is true that the construction is a sign of development and improvement, however it does need a parallel study to such works as the cost involved in this development is significant, the construction industry is responsible for the consumption of most of the planet's natural resources, among these may be mentioned the clay raw material of ceramic tiles and blocks in order to minimize the extraction of these resources is necessary to search for new materials and constructive techniques such as soil-cement blocks, these blocks replace the elevation of ceramic walls, it takes a greater proportion of its manufacturing soil, abundance of raw material, and firing is not necessary that occurs with ceramic blocks. Soon the general objective of the project is to conduct a general study of the feasibility of using soil-cement blocks produced by hydraulic press. To achieve this study tests compressive strength, water absorption and soil characterization used as liquid limit, plastic limit and particle size by sieving it was analyzed the appearance of the blocks, It was also analyzed for color , edges and texture , cost and productivity that involves its implementation. The results were all adequate, the values of compressive strength were above the minimum suggested by the technical standard, the water absorption was below the maximum suggested by it, the soil was rated good to excellent behavior and about the cost and productivity can be stated that the use of soil-cement blocks is advantageous. According to the studies and trials it can be said that the use of construction techniques involving soil-cement blocks is more efficient in relation to productivity, is safe, sustainable and economically viable. |
