In this context, the Federal Government identified the need of creation and strengthening of institutions to promote professional certification and began offering workers the right to free professional training qualification programs. The aim of the research was to check the profile of the workers by raising the personal data of participants, as well as assess the importance given to vocational training by the surveyed through a questionnaire based on studies. It was obtained an overview, having been contacted fifty workers of small, medium and large companies and public works for construction professionals in the city of Dourados. The results indicated that the interest in professional qualification of active workers in this sector is increasing, whether it is to improve the wages or productivity, but it is still only the beginning of the changes needed to consolidate the importance of qualification, which aims to provide efficiency gains throughout the production chain.
