Resumo: There are about 46 million people in Brazil with disabilities. According to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) this represents 24% of the population. When we speak of accessibility, it should also include people who have reduced mobility, elderly, pregnant women and children, which greatly increases the number of people who actually needs accessible spaces. The city must allow all its inhabitants, safely and autonomously, leisure, housing, access to public services and the movement on the roads, including ensuring accessibility for people with disabilities. While there is a law that calls for it, the reality of these people is a difficult social inclusion, barriers and interference due mainly found in the public-use environments. In this context, our objective was to analyze the conditions of accessibility on sidewalks, roads and public buildings in the municipality of Doutor Camargo -PR and observe compliance with laws and rules which governs the subject. Initially a literature search was conducted at the City Hall of the municipality in order to analyze the municipal laws, documents and existing measures of accessibility. Then, a field survey was conducted in the city, noting the main obstacles on the sidewalks and public roads, as well as an analysis in public buildings, based on the recommendations of ISO 9050 (2004). Interviews with people with special needs were also performed and prepared technical presentations in local schools, for consciousness about the theme. Finally we have tried to present some suggestions for improvements to the municipality as accessibility, based on the results obtained through research. The results showed that unfortunately the city is not prepared to provide full access to PSEs, such as sidewalks were found with no floors or paving and garbage blocking the passage not only of PSEs but any citizen who circulates through the heave avenues and streets of city. All public buildings analyzed also showed several nonconformance with the standard. It is concluded that the municipality of Camargo Doctor is very lacking accessibility to a readjustment of public spaces, the implementation of measures to promote accessibility and policy oversight for the implementation of public tours is required.
