This review had the objective to look into the employee satisfaction in a horizontal building site in Campo Mourão city, state of Paraná. This work has qualitative approach, with exploratory and descriptive purposes. Therefore, we used lifting process and case study. Through bibliographic research’s, could be created a survey working together the observation process, in order to lift necessary information for this work. Our research has happened in a popular habitation enterprise, where it was in an advanced process steps and some units were being finished. The verification happened applying the survey to employees belonging in a sample with some predetermined characteristics and also to their direct supervisor, having as a goal to collect data to corroborate the results. The research sought information which could show some questions about job satisfaction of their employees. Such as: communication, safety, leader-led relationship, payment and integration. This is why; the research showed us the necessity for jobs that include people management in building sector, since this topic is still little explored, precisely in the midst of Brazilian crisis, we have greater need than ever before. The job safety showed positive results, where the interviewees say there is awareness from the company and employees about safety, but not all the answers were unanimous and this fact requires an in-depth study about this issue, trying to identify possible failures. Toward the communication and leader-led relationship some problems were exposed, such as lack of knowledge of shell-work planning and how the employees feel uncomfortable by giving suggestion to their leaders. It was found by the work review high satisfaction with the workplace by employees, showing their interest in staying working in building construction. Therefore, the review shows an overview about people management in building construction, but it can also make clear the necessity of an in-depth study of each theme and different realities within the construction industry.
