This paper brings the discussion regarding the capacity of provident of clean water through a dew harvester. Known the importance of exploring new hydric resources, because of world’s deficit regarding access to potable water by many people around the world, which is increasing because of its exponential population growth. A reduced scale prototype of the project Warka Water was built and tested at the UTFPR campus Campo Mourão, with the objective of verifying the functionality of the structure and approach the possibility of obtaining potable water through an hydric resource barely explored as dew is. Because of particular characteristics of the hydrometeor, its formation happened in small quantities, detailed studies of its condensation process and project efficiency became unfeasible. Even though, through the analysis of some meteorological data, the city of Campo Mourão demonstrated to be favorable to the exploration of dew and fog harvesting. Summarizing, the accessibility of the project is verified with simple construction techniques and the use of locally available materials, and its capacity of functioning related to its construction scale, climate and geographical favorable conditions. |
