Resumo: Because of geographical, political and climatic factors, Southeastern Brazil, in 2014 and 2015, went through a crisis, in which throughout Brazil was warned of water shortages. Apart from that, every year this region undergoes flooding problems and flooding. One of the subjects most talked about the water crisis was the wastage of drinking water, mainly caused by improper use (in non-noble purposes such as, for example, the toilet and the garden tap) and unconscious, which should be avoided. As a solution of this problem, many ideas were presented in order to save drinking water from faucets aerators to rainwater catchment systems on tiles. Thus, different ways should be studied and evaluated to assist the reduction of waste, and the present work aims to present a rainwater catchment model for people who have or want to install a swimming pool at home, and shows advantages this system in relation to capture rain water on surfaces such as roofs and courtyards, and also attest that the capture of rainwater helps reduce urban runoff, reducing the risk of floods and flooding.
