Rainwater harvesting systems are extremely important to ensure the good performance of buildings. The gutters are part of this system being the recipients of rainwater. Several pathologies are related to gutters being the main problems with infiltrations. The objective of this work was to identify the pathologies by means of photographic records and to perform a comparison with the sizing of the gutters using NBR 10844/1989 and a rain equation constructed by researchers who used updated rainfall data. With the collection of images there were several causes for the appearance of infiltrations related to gutters such as poor execution, lack of design and insufficient design. By means of the calculations presented, it was possible to observe that NBR 10844/89 needs an update in relation to its rainfall indexes. |
