Bamboo has been shown a viable alternative material in construction as it is a renewable, easy to obtain, high strength and quick development. This research paper presents and compares the mechanical properties, through an experimental analysis, specimen with and without bamboo. The specimens were submitted to flexural traction, axial compression and modulus of elasticity. The results indicate the potential use of bamboo in the construction as allied to concrete due to its excellent performance in bending efforts. To do so, there is a need for research that explore the use of bamboo as a structural material. |
