Resumo: The goal of this work was to study ten different methods of vegetation indices to generate information for better visualization of the vegetation in the area of Blue Lake State Park, located in the municipalities of Campo Mourao and Luiziania in Paraná, using images of high resolution from the Worldview- 2 satellite. The images used were provided by the geoprocessing laboratory, linked to the Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR) Campus Campo Mourao, and were taken on July 29, 2010, provided in geotiff format the respective spectral bands, blue (BLUE), red (RED), green (GREEN) and near infrared (NIR). To work with the images was used the geoprocessing program SPRING 5.1,from the Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE), and the Linguagem Espacial para Geoprocessamento Algébrico (LEGAL), a query language and spatial manipulation which performs spatial analysis through maps algebra. After pictures of each index generated, each was visually analyzed to see which best represent the vegetation in the study area. At the end of the analysis was verified that, given the particularity of each index and its specific characteristics, the best hypothesis is to consider the complementarity between the indices to form an image which data generate satisfactory results for a better understanding of the dynamics between vegetation and other phenomena in the study area. These indexes and their different combinations should be the basis for other studies.
