Resumo: The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a forest certification system that are intended to demonstrate, through the use of a seal, the raw material used in the manufacture of a given product comes from properly managed forests. This system is divided into two categories: Forest Management (related to forestry practices) and Chain of Custody (related to product traceability secondary forest). In this work of completion were demonstrated any adaptations that held a paper industry to receive certification by the Brazilian Forest Stewardship Council (FSC Brazil) Chain of Custody form and relevance of the label at the time of sale of the product. The methodology consisted of analysis of the procedures adopted on the spot and a questionnaire on customers who buy this product certificate. The results indicated that the implementation of FSC certification was not difficult, because this industry has a quality management system. It can be concluded that, for the sale of the product, the degree of relevance of certification was low and the main reason for the sale is not related to the FSC. Markets increasingly restricted products will make FSC gain competitive advantages.
