The goal of the environmental management system is to generate the least possible impact to the environment and continuously improve their actions. To implement it, one of the most important steps is operational control, which are documented procedures used to achieve their goals, as related to environmental policy or legal requirements. The waste may be considered a major cause of degradation and its management in educational institutions is complex and it is essential to draw up procedures to control its impacts. Based on this issue, this paper presents a systematic operational control to the main waste generated in UTFPR - Câmpus Campo Mourão, trying to standardize their actions to better their final destination. With the lifting of waste generating activities and their management practices, permitted and detailed knowledge of waste management practices, enabling the preparation procedures according to the characteristics of the institution. Procedures have been prepared in accordance with legal requirements and according to the conditions of provision and collection of the institution, covering information regarding
the segregation, packaging, disposal, responsible as well as the establishment of
chips to record the quantity generated. The documents were prepared in plain language and objective, making them easy to adapt the entire academic community and also for new students and employees. Operational control of waste if properly applied will result in compliance with current legislation, awareness of servers on the proper management, proper disposal and mitigation of impacts to the environment caused by them. However, its implementation is so efficient is needed the participation of all academic community through training and lectures to raise awareness of the role played by each. |
