The study aimed to perform a diagnosis of the management of waste tires in three cities in the state of Paraná, Maringa, Campo Mourao and Arapongas. For data collection visits to city halls and regional offices of the Environmental Institute of Paraná, aiming to identify the legal requirements for tire management were performed. For quantitative data and generation of waste tires stages of this waste management visits were made to companies authorized for the activity of collection and disposal of waste tires. In relation to the legal requirements applicable to the subject under study, it was identified that there is legislation at federal and state level, and that the cities possess Maringa and Arapongas specific legal requirements on waste tires. The cities where the study have companies that perform the service of collecting waste tires, which work in partnership with Reciclanip - an association created by manufacturers and importers of tires and rolling, responsible for using tires for the production of different articles . Companies that perform management in the three cities studied totaled 1,023 tons monthly of waste tires collected, representing approximately 12% of total generation in the South of Brazil. |
