Resumo: Urbanization brings some impacts, such as pollution of water, air, and increased runoff that can cause flooding. Therefore, this research evaluates the increase direct runoff by using a hydrological model applied to urban watersheds. The study was applied on a stretch of river basin Km 119, with 569 ha in the municipality of Campo Mourao - PR. They evaluated the impact of soil sealing with the construction of new residential settlements, by comparing the current situation to a future scenario of urbanization. It was used the Storm Water Management Model software - SWMM as a model of transformation rainfall-runoff CurveNumber (CN). The intensity of the project rain rainfall was 51.89 mm for the return period of 5 years, from 78.59 mm to the return period of 50 years and 89.05 mm for the return period of 100 years. In land use, the future scenario of urbanization has increased by approximately 123 ha of new housing developments, increasing impervious surfaces. The value of CurveNumber ranged between 76.36 and 77.56 at the current scenario and between 78.56 and 80.22 for the urbanization scenario. The values of the runoff varied between 8000 and 122000 m3 in the current scenario and 18000 and 163000 m3 in the future scenario. The runoff coefficient ranged between 0.118 and 0.449 in the current scenario and was higher in urban settlement scenario with values ranging 0.276-0.607. In the peak flow there was an increase of 120% and a reduction in peak time.
