Resumo: This work shows the development of a mathematical modeling to solve the problem of optimal allocation of capacitor banks in the electric power transmission system with the objective of improving the voltage magnitude profile and consequently reducing the active and reactive power losses in the system. The proposed formulation uses optimum power flow (FPO) equations and is solved by LINGO the optimization software, which presents optimal adjustment solutions for the treated system. The test system is used to show the accuracy of the mathematical model as well as the proposed modeling efficiency to solve the problem of bank allocation and the improvement of the voltage profile in the Electric Power System.
