The objective of this work is to evaluate and propose the use of methods that allow the correct specification of protective clothing against arc-flashes. Since the incident energy of an electric arc is extremely detrimental to the safety of persons working directly with an electrical installation and equipment, it must be measured in accordance with current regulations and the risks must be controlled and neutralized, so that physical integrity of people and facilities are preserved. Thus, the present work proposes the application of a graphical tool to assist in the specification of protective clothing against the incident energy released during the occurrence of the arc in low voltage systems, in order to make a correct estimate of the energy levels released, contributing to the adequate specification of the clothes and safety at work. |
