Resumo: The capacity to damp mechanical vibrations is one of the most important properties of synthetic granite, it is better than cast iron and it has been adopted in tool machine foundations and precision equipments manufacturing. The synthetic granite use for machine foundations manufacturing aims to supply the limitations identified by the use of cast iron, where problems coming from the application of that material are related with high values of thermal expansion coefficient and thermal conductivity, which result in manufacturing errors. This course conclusion work intends to design and manufacture a synthetic granite base for a vibration analysis experimental workbench, and its main goal is to achieve improvements in vibration damping of the experimental workbench, so that the base does not induce directly in the results of the vibration analysis system itself.
