Resumo: The fast development of production processes has led to the need to improve productivity and quality along with the reduction of time and costs, this led to the development and improvement of techniques and automated systems used for monitoring and control of welding processes. Among the research related to monitoring and control applied in welding, we can highlight those used for monitoring of the weld bead geometry. In this paper, we describe the operation of these monitoring processes, a 3D measurement system for post welding or also called 3D scanner for post welding, used to analyze the coating applied by welding cored wire process shielding gas, using a steel base metal such as SAE 1020 and a tubular filler metal wire of 1.2mm diameter stainless steel martensitic 410 (CA6MN). Lastly, it’s discussed the results of this equipment, and the calculation of statistics (average, variance and standard deviation) thereof in order to validate this device.
