Resumo: The purpose of this research is the evaluation and conditioning of a person’s cervical posture, utilizing a sensor prototype designed to determine the existence of irregularities in one’s postural alignment. Thus, the postural evaluation and control methodology and their relations to a person’s mentality to posture control in their daily lives was evaluated with 6 volunteers, properly supervised in the study: the concept of obtaining results utilizing the maximum possible simplicity in the construction of a sensor capable of acquiring the necessary data to that end, supported by the software Solidworks. The field research verified, via the use of the prototype developed and application of a questionnaire, the efficacy of the system in detecting variations in a number of people’s vertebral postures, although these were shown to be heavily biased by the individual’s disposition to utilizing the equipment correctly. The output were the evaluations done with six volunteer individuals that, over the course of two months, showed very positive results regarding the project’s proposal, and the evaluation system and prototype clearly have the theorized detection capabilities.
