This research aims to present an analysis of the booklet Introduction to the knowledge of the sphere (Introduction a la connaissance de la sphère) of the French author Sylvestre-François Lacroix. The copy that was used is a translation into Portuguese made from the fourth edition of the original work of 1872. The analysis we propose is based on the theoretical-methodological referential of Depth Hermeneutics, as proposed by John B. Thompson, for the analysis of symbolic forms. This referential is presented under three phases of analysis: socio-historical analysis, descriptive analysis and interpretation/reinterpretation. Some authors were used so that Lacroix's booklet could be considered as a symbolic form, since like any symbol, it has an intentional character and can be interpreted. |
