When a power transformer is subjected to mechanical stresses, impacts during movement or transport, can cause geometric changes in the windings, such as deformations and displacements. These deformations are detrimental as they reduce the transformer's ability to withstand short-circuits and voltage surges, shorten its life and precipitate faults that can take it out of operation. In this work, a focus was given on conducting the Scan Frequency Response Analysis (SFRA) test to verify the integrity of the transformer after transportation
from the factory where all the tests were carried out in standard to the place of installation of the equipment. |
