This monograph is the result of the study of the relationship between fishermen and the environment in which they live, as well as the representativeness of fishing on the economy of Bahia and Brazil, and to understand the importance of preserving the fishermen community of Baixa do Petróleo, Massaranduba, in Salvador, Bahia. This community, originally built on stilts, had a fire incident in 2015, and more than 50 families were left without homes and had to be removed from the area, which made it difficult for them to access the sea. This work aims to preserve the culture and traditions of fishermen through an architectural design that brings a health and safe structure to the activity in its multiple areas of work. |
