Resumo: People with mental disorders still suffer from the historical weight of prejudice. The concepts related to mental treatments have been transformed over time, being followed by changes in the physical structures that sheltered this population. In this way, architecture has always played an active role in the mental disorder treatment. This Undergraduate Thesis aims to develop an architectural project for a Psychosocial Care Center type III, aiming to assist in the promotion of mental health through architecture. Initially, a bibliographic survey was made on the previous and current methods of mental disorders treatment, followed by a research on the relation between mental health and the built environment. Reference projects were also analyzed, as well as data gathering of the intervention area was performed. The information collected during this research supported the definition of the project guidelines which, in sequence, led to the architectural project development.
