Resumo: |
This work aims the development of a conceptual capsule collection of eyeglasses frames. To do this it was necessary to do a theoretical research on identity, national identity, Brazilian identity, culture, material culture, design and fashion. The eyeglasses history, its steps of development, materials and accessories were studied for better understanding of the artefact. A hybrid methodology, that could cover the industrial design and the fashion design methods, composed of four steps, was established from Phillips (2008), Brown (2010) and Nakao (2005). The main idea for this project was the experimentation through processes and materials. The collection theme was the Brazilian identity, and its main reference for this identity were Margaret Mee’s illustrations of Amazonian plants and flowers. The collection Nympha Decora was developed with six different models of eyeglasses frames. The result of this experiment was an innovation, especially due to the use of Brazilian rocks inlaid in the models and to the laser cutting of acetate, the emain raw material for the frames. The final considerations of this work can give rise to future researches in the optical area of industrial design and fashion design. It is also possible to extend the work to develop commercial models from the conceptual collection. |
