This document describes the development process of a role-playing game aimed at a target audience that includes beginners with no experience in the genre. It introduces important concepts about the experience motivated by games, with special focus on the specificities of RPGs. With those concepts, a project methodology is developed from a study about game design, establishing a process that includes a deep analysis of similar relevant games that are on the market, highlighting their mechanics, dynamics and aesthetics, which serve as a foundation for the development of this project. With all the ideas gathered in the analysis, the methodology continues with the definition of the game system that, throughout an iterative process, is refined multiple times before reaching its final version. This system is then tested, which helps bring clarity about how it works and how it interacts with the player. With the system developed, the project goes through alternatives generation, interactive prototypes elaboration and the development of the final product, followed by final considerations related to the project. |
