Resumo: The current essay analyses a popular brazilian newspaper called Notícias Populares, more specifically an urban myth of a clown created by the newspaper itself. The analysis was important for the production of a photo session, followed by the creation of a book inspired by the urban myth. The goal of this research was to use more images and less text to represent the story and make it understandable. The designers explored a range of fields, such as photography, semiotics and style, at the same time they searched deep into the newspaper pointing some of its main graphic features. These information, mixed with concepts of grunge, new media art and lomography were important to set a style on how the images would look alike in the end. The final result was a book full of conceptual images, which instigates who reads it to explore it deeply.
