This paper seeks to study photography and semiotic using as object the comic "The Girl Inclined" , writted by Benoît Peeters and illustrated by François Schuitten . From this study two independent languages have been aborded - comics and photography - and relationships that may result from the cross between them were analyzed. With the intention of better understanding the meanings of resulting hybrid images, this study helps design professionals better understand their graphic production and refine their visual perception. Therefore, the methodology chosen for this analysis is based on the work of Martine Joly , in which there is a predominance of American semiotics of Charles Sanders Pierce , lending also analytical studies of Roland Barthe. The structure analysis of Martine Joly is initiated by the description of the object, then it discusses the plastic message, then the iconic message and finally verbal languag. Likewise this work follows applying these principles in the comic "The Girl Inclined" of Shuitten and Peeters . |
