Resumo: Kung Fu is a Chinese originated martial art which has been gaining ground in Brazil and in the world. Curitiba city, because it was the birth place of many champion fighters like Anderson Silva, Wanderlei Silva and Maurício Shogun, is recognized worldwide in the martial arts scene. But even with this recognition big Kung Fu events end up not getting to the city. Having the goal of increasing Kung Fu visibility in Brazil and bringing a big event to the city, will be held in Curitiba an international level Chinese martial arts tournament, where professionalism, good planning, organization and an outstanding identity must be primary aspects. Besides the need of an efficient visual identity, recurrent flaws related to the organization of Kung Fu events have been noticed, which generated the creation of a guide to help the organization and planning of the tournament. Trough wide bibliographic research, interviews and field research, based on a design methodology, a visual identity system that would meet the necessary requirements of the project have been developed. The main theoretical axes of this project comprise topics related to event organization, mainly sports events, as well as topics related to the general theory of design, visual identity design and editorial design.
