Resumo: Adapted sport is no longer just an important tool for social inclusion. Nowadays it is also seen as a product of the sports market, whose access to sponsorships and financing aimed at its practice has increased considerably. Notwithstanding the lack of public policies specifically aimed to the paradesporto, entities that develop a paradesporto modality in Brazil may use some policies that are aimed to highperformance sports in general. Amongst the sporting modalities emerging in our country, we can highlight wheelchair rugby, whose entities, organization and structure have expanded spaces and accesses. Thus, the goals of this study were: (i) analyze the physical, human and financial structures of the entities that develop wheelchair rugby in Brazil; and (ii) study the relationships between sports performance and access to resources coming from public policies and/or other actions. It is a cross-sectional, qualitative, descriptive study. To answer the research goals, a questionnaire developed by the researcher, composed of objective multiple choices questions, was applied. The objective questions were divided into three topics. In the first topic the questions were focused on general information of the entity and the physical structure available for training and sports performance. In the second topic the issues covered the human resources that entities have for training and competitions. In the third topic, the questions were related to the financial resources destined to the entity or its athletes, highlighting the laws of incentive, athlete scholarship, sponsorship and donations, as well as the difficulties and importance of each of them to the activities of the entity. The last three questions were opened, focusing on the participant's perception of the wheelchair rugby scenario in Brazil. For analysis, descriptive measures (absolute and relative frequencies) of objective responses and open questions were calculated. There was also a survey of the number of entities that develop wheelchair rugby, with confirmed participation in the Brazilian Championship of this modality in 2018. The participants of the research were nine entities, located in three regions of the country and among the results was observed that the lack of specific public policies for the paralympic sport makes difficult the wheelchair rugby. Also, through the open questionnaires, it was possible to conclude that the excess of bureaucracy, and the lack of incentive to development and promotion of the modality, makes the public policies for wheelchair rugby unsatisfactory. In addition, participants emphasized that the priority actions are: base investment, research, training of good referees, classifiers and coaches and greater visibility of the modality. It is hoped that this study will increase the knowledge about wheelchair rugby in Brazil, enabling the emergence of new entities with interest on develop the modality.
