Resumo: The Civil Construction has evolved both in construction techniques and in the development of new materials, however, during the process of construction and also during the period of use of buildings, various statements can lead to occurrence of pathological manifestations which slows down performance and the durability of the construction systems. With this in mind and taking into account the concept of Project Lifespan (PLS) presented the Performance Standard (NBR 15575: 2013 - Performance Standard - Buildings) is critical for both builders and the users of the buildings to fulfilled recommendations and maintenance schedules of building systems, according to the guidelines of the use, operation and maintenance presented in the Building Manual. For the correct diagnosis of such situations and, consequently, the adoption of the most appropriate strategies for recovery and maintenance of buildings, obtaining subsidies is a key step in the research process and the use of thermography as a Non Destructive Testing (NDT) is a technology with great potential for use in Diagnostic Engineering. The results presented in this work during field inspections have shown that the application of this technique enables the identification of hidden pathological manifestations in façade cladding systems and also its length, including inaccessible places, complementing the results of visual inspections and drastically reducing the subjectivity of investigations.
