The use of structural masonry in civil construction reassembles to the human civilization's primordium. This is one of the oldest known methods and is used until now. Structural masonry as a constructive system in Brazil is present in many of the country's regions and in constructions with different models. As one of the oldest construction methods, it is expected to find a lot of information regarding this. There also must be an interest in verifying its situation against so many other ways to build presented by sector's specialists. This term paper's objective is to evaluate part of the bibliographic material available and verify its extension on the subject. It is also of interest to analyze the increase or decrease of structural masonry's use throughout time, around the of 2018 in particular. The research was conducted through internet search and contact with one of the biggest company with a national presence which used in many of its constructions the system studied. The results show that the quantity and quality of the bibliographical material are coherent with what is expected of such an ancient construction system. Regarding the structural masonry's use increase or decrease, it was identified that this system is in a transition period. |
