The unsaturated soil mechanics is a neglected studied area compared to the classical soil mechanics. This work aims is contribute to the development of this area. The objective of this conclusion project of college was to determine the characteristic curve of a soil by analyzing a horizon of the Guabirotuba Formation. The soil of this profile was characterized as a loamy sand with low percentage of organic matter. The characteristic of this soil was analyzed by correlating it with some known equations. It was concluded that the model that best represents this curve is a unimodal curve described by Van Genutchen. |
