This paper is a study of composed wooden columns subject to flexocompression to obtain its actual slenderness. The proposed methodology comprises a numerical and experimental research, based on the procedures referenced by the Brazilian standart NBR 7190/97. Columns analysis has great importance because they ensure the strength, global and local stability of a structural arrangement. The calculation method for solid section columns proposed by the current legal document is well defined but for composed section columns determining the slenderness of the structural element needs enlightenment. Within this context, it sought to establish a comparative slenderness between massive columns and composed section by load capacity, making it possible to obtain an expression that represents the slenderness of those columns, improving the method of analysis of stability proposed by the Brazilian standard .
