Resumo: Composite materials, although very old, began to gain importance in the twentieth century, with the rise of synthetic fibers. It is currently present in the naval and aeronautical segments, because presented several advantages over materials before used as raw material. Their share in other market segments is still limited. The electrical segment found in the composite material a great solution for poles and accessories, which have to be installed in places of difficult access. However, as a new material in the market, there is a lag of information and studies on it at. This paper examines structurally a pole made of composite material, more specifically glass fiber reinforced plastic.
