Resumo: For better application and usage of renewable energies and its effectiveness, it is necessary to increase the knowledge through research and technological development. The objective of this project is the development of a charger for a photovoltaic generation system, governed by the Maximum Power Point Follower, MPPT, algorithm and by a control system that rules the converter. The photovoltaic generation has a high relevance in the global scenario due to the urgency of sources and technologies that improve its efficiency. The project sought to extract the maximum power of the photovoltaic generator to recharge a battery, and to deepen the knowledge and achieve the project goals, studies on batteries, photovoltaic generation, MPPT, control systems and static converter topology, were conducted. Then the converter was dimensioned followed by the choice of the controller and MPPT technique. The last step of the procedure was the implementation of the system and simulation. The results obtained demonstrate the full operation of the PID controller, as well as the extraction of the maximum power point of the system. With the obtained solution it is possible to affirm that the system has efficiency and its use on photovoltaic systems is satisfactory.
