Resumo: To perform the structural analysis of buildings, there are several structural models proposed to simulate the real structure. In this work, was used the models of Continuous Beams, Simplified Plane Frame, Plane Frame, Grids of Beams, plane grids, Slabs by Finite Element, Space Frame, Space Frame with plane Grid and Space Frame with Finite Element, in order to compare and analyze the obtained bending moments in beams and indicate the characteristics of each model analyzed. For the slabs, the method used for distribution of linear load in the beam was the Czerny method, the plane grid method and the finite element method. Using a predetermined residential building with five similar pavements, it was used only the vertical loads acting to analyze the bending moments of the beams with the aid of software SAP2000. The properties of concrete were adjusted according to NBR 6118 and the loads used are those suggested by the NBR 6120. As the structure of the building has many beams which are supported on other beams, the two-dimensional models was presented inadequate to check the structure, resulting in the oversizing of the structural element. Were found in models that use finite elements, the more accurate method currently, the most satisfactory results for a correct and optimized structure.
