Resumo: This research provides an overview of Physics contents addressed in Science teaching in Elementary School 2, the conditions of teaching and the difficulties and possibilities the teachers find in teaching. This research involved two stages, the first one was the analysis of official documents and the second one involved interviews with public school teachers in the metropolitan region of Curitiba, in city of Itaperuçu. It has been analyzed the National Curriculum Standards for Science Education (PCN), the National Curricular Guidelines (DCN), the Political-Pedagogical Projects (PPP) of schools and the work plans of the interviewed teachers. Among the propositions of interpretations can be noted that the training of teachers and the choice of textbooks influence the Physical contents approach in Elementary School 2.
