To achieve our objective, besides theoretical aspects from literary studies, the following biographies about Adolf Hitler will be studied: "The Hitler of History" by John Lukacs (1998), "Hitler" (1976) by Joachim Fest, and also "Mein Kampf" (2001), written by the dictator, which will provide theoretical background on the study about the historical figure. Also, we will use theoretical studies on the literary character, and theories concerning the source of evil according to St. Augustine's and the subsequent considerations of Boethius, as well as the theory of the philosopher Hannah Arendt. Apart from the similarities between their ideologies and its relation with racial purity questions, both characters had similarities between their relation with their father figure. We also recognized the resemblance between the manifestation of evil of them. O presente trabalho está inserido na área de Literatura de Língua Inglesa do século XX e XXI, e tem como principal objetivo realizar um estudo das obras da série “Harry Potter”, comparando o personagem Lord Voldemort ao ditador alemão Adolf Hitler, conhecido por sua atuação na Segunda Guerra Mundial, tendo como ponto de partida o mal praticado por eles, bem como as semelhanças e diferenças entre a política antissemita predominante no Terceiro Reich e a crença na superioridade dos bruxos puro-sangue nas obras literárias. Para cumprir o objetivo proposto, além de questões teóricas sobre a personagem do ponto de vista literário, serão estudadas as biografias de Adolf Hitler “O Hitler da História”, de John Lukacs (1998), “Hitler”, de Joachim Fest (1976), e também a obra “Mein Kampf” (2001), escrita pelo ditador, que proporcionarão embasamento teórico sobre a figura histórica. Além da fundamentação biográfica, serão utilizadas as teorias sobre a origem e manifestação do mal de Santo Agostinho, bem como as considerações posteriores dos filósofos Boécio e Hannah Arendt. Além das semelhanças entre as ideologias relacionadas às questões de pureza racial dos dois personagens, verificaram-se diversos pontos comuns nas relações de ambos com suas respectivas figuras paternas.
